What is Single and Dual PD?
The single PD is the measurement from your one eye to another while the dual PD is the measurement from the center of your nose to both eyes. Distance PD is used to order any kind of prescription glasses except reading glasses.
Dual PD is normally written in the following notation: 43/41, where the right number is for the right eye and the left number is for the left eye.
How To Calculate Near PD for Reading Glasses?
You can do this by subtracting 3mm from your PD distance. For example, if your PD distance is 60mm, then your near PD will be 57mm. If you are using Dual PD value for calculating your near PD, then subtract 1.5mm from the measurement of each eye. For example, if your dual PD value is 3/31mm then your near PD value will be 31.5/29.5mm.
