What is Pupillary Distance?

To measure the distance between the centers of your pupil's is known as Pupillary distance (PD). This measurement is used to find where you look through the lens of your glasses and it must be as accurate as possible. The average PD of adults is between 54-74 mm, while kids PD is between 43-58 mm. You can know your PD value while examining your eyes from your eye doctor. You can also know your PD value by following these 5 steps.

Steps to Measure Your PD:

• Stand 8 inches far from the mirror.
• Hold a ruler against your eyebrow.
• Now, close your right eye and align the 0 mm of the ruler with the center of your left pupil.
• Look straight, now open your right eye and close your left eye.
• The mm line that is at the center of your right pupil is your PD.
